Day Hikes from Queenstown Like a Bos

Embarking on a memorable journey to Queenstown, NZ with Sara, Jason and Natalia was truly special. Amidst immersing ourselves in Queenstown’s charm and cuisine, we seized the opportunity to tackle two beautiful day hikes – Ben Lomond and a segment of The Routeburn, a renowned Great Walk in New Zealand.
The ascent of Ben Lomond proved to be a challenging yet rewarding 10km hike, featuring over 1,000 meters of vertical ascent that offered breathtaking 360-degree views. The Routeburn Track, spanning 25km, unfolded as an awe-inspiring outing, beginning amidst lush foliage and revealing soaring mountain peaks, expansive valleys and jewel-like lakes and streams.
Natalia, demonstrating remarkable resilience, trudged along without complaint despite a tear in her knee, while Jason plunged into the freezing stream, channelling his inner Wim Hof, the Iceman himself. Even with a knee replacement, Mum navigated the trails with unwavering determination, adding a remarkable touch to our adventure. Heartfelt thanks to Mum for making this unforgettable journey possible!
